Letter from the President -

March 28, 2008

Hello everyone!

Happy Spring!!! At least that’s what the calendar tells us. Spring arrived officially a week ago yesterday, followed by, for most of us in the Midwest, a snowstorm of rather impressive proportions. Having missed much of a “white Christmas”, we received an undreamed of “white Easter.” Then yesterday, many of us received yet another winter’s snowy exclamation mark to punctuate the first week of spring!!!!

Nevertheless, spring is here and will soon usher in much more nudist friendly weather for all of who make our homes in the Midwest. During the upcoming weeks many of us will be returning to our landed clubs for water “turn ons” and spring “cleanups” getting everything ready for our much anticipated late spring and early summer seasons.

In our AANR Midwest Region, we are gearing up for a very active and exciting spring and summer.

  • Our 2008 Spring Conference will be held April 25th-27th at Rock Haven Lodge in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
  • Our 55th Annual Midwest Region Convention and General Assembly will be held July 13th through July 20th.
  • Our 77th Annual National Convention and Annual Meeting will be held August 10th through August 17th.

Turtle Lake Resort in Union City, Michigan will host both of these AANR Conventions—regional and national—just three weeks apart under the common theme: “Cruise into Nudism on the U.S.S. Turtle Lake in 2008.” Many exciting events and great entertainment are in the plans for both Conventions.

We encourage all of our AANR Midwest members and clubs to make plans to attend and participate in one or better yet both of these gatherings at Turtle Lake Resort.

Also, in the upcoming weeks and months exciting changes will begin to take place on this very AANR Midwest Website that will make it much more user friendly and offer a dynamic/interactive site that can be used frequently by most if not all of our clubs and members in communicating with one another. We especially want our clubs to buy into and make use of this website, contributing photos that can be used and posting significant events that they would like others to be aware of. This will help us make our site a more interesting and informative place to visit often.

Thank you for your interest and attention. I look forward to the opportunity of perhaps meeting and greeting many of you at one or more of our events this spring and summer.

We will be in touch again, soon.

Peace, naturally. . .

Harvey Hanna
